Make Black Bear Resort your “home away from home” while you and the family enjoy all the winter recreational opportunities available in Canaan Valley.
Winter recreation has always been paramount in Canaan Valley. From November to April, it’s not uncommon to see the valley blanketed in snow due to the area’s high elevation and geographical location. Canaan Valley is the highest elevated valley east of the Rockies. With summit elevations jutting over 4,260 feet from the 3,200 foot valley floor and its location directly in the path of winter Nor ’easters, Canaan Valley is blessed with lots of snow! Annual average is over 160 inches (that’s over 13 feet!).
