If your family loves to snowboard, ski, or snow tube, Canaan Valley is the perfect “family place!”  Canaan Valley is home to two great ski mountains – Canaan Valley and Timberline Resort, located just minutes apart – two state parks, (including Blackwater Falls), a federal wildlife refuge, and miles of national forest. Black Bear Resort is centered within all of this!

Our Pedestal homes are family friendly, as is the entire Resort. (Some are even pet friendly.) The Pedestal homes come equipped with fireplaces, Jacuzzi tubs (a kid’s favorite), TV with DVD, internet, and full kitchens. The Resort’s Main Lodge offers WiFi. There’s a playground and a pond. Of course, if there’s lots of snow, the grounds have plenty of places to sled or just walk. Usually, though, families make Black Bear their “home-away-from home” while they explore the recreational offerings within the valley.
